Pit-fired Gallery
Cone 6 Gallery

Since I moved my studio to New Hampshire - where I am always surrounded by nature and the view from my window is well-known to me, yet never the same - I have been exploring the creation of new forms, often for familiar subjects, though not necessarily looking for something extremely original or shocking. Harmony of form and imaginative surfaces are my focus. This is where I pit fire my pieces.

Recently I have been making work that is fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. In this study of form, all the shapes evolved from a basic bowl or vase silhouette, and exhibit some organic influence from nature which I observe around me. I think the form of a bowl - that most basic and primal form - is a pleasure and a challenge to explore.
